Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek will feature an array of dinosaur fossils excavated from the Hell Creek Formation by amateur Sioux City paleontologists Brian Buckmeier and Darren Maurer.
The Sioux City Public Museum proudly presents its latest exhibit showcasing Uncle John’s Ceiling Mural, by Paul Chelstad. Experience all 22 panels of the full mural up close, removed from its original ceiling setting and displayed in the Museum’s gallery.
Shutter and Sound: The Jazz Photography of Bob Willoughby will feature the dynamic jazz scene of the 1950s, a time—in the words of Dave Brubeck—“of youth, exuberance, hope, and change.”
A retrospective of the prominent Winnebago artist's works is showcased along with a selection of Native American artifacts from the Museum’s collection.
The annual Siouxland Big Give is Tuesday, October 3. The Siouxland Community Foundation will be hosting this 24-hour giving day at local Hy-Vee stores in the Sioux City area. Online giving is now open.
An event honoring local fourth-grade students participating in the 33rd annual Sioux City History Projects exhibition on display March 16-May 11. The reception is followed by an awards ceremony at 2 pm. Admission is free.
The Sioux City Public Museum and Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center will be closed in observance of the Easter holiday.
The Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

The Sioux City Public Museum is closed Friday, November 10 in observance of the Veterans Day City Holiday. The Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center is closed on Saturday, November 11 for Veterans Day.
Borrow free safety glasses for a look at the partial solar eclipse on the Museum Plaza. Attendees may bring blankets, lawn chairs, and lunch to the event. FREE.

Programs ranging from pre-school to age twelve
Check out all of the exciting opportunities for free, family-friendly fun this summer!
Summer Family Classes are geared towards early elementary aged children and their caretakers, but all are welcome to participate! This class is free to attend, no registration required.
Join us from 10-11 a.m. on July 24 for a free, drop-in program for families with preschool and early elementary aged children!
Join us on August 2 at 10 a.m. for a Family Field Trip! Field trips are not just for students! Explore Sioux City’s historic places on these guided tours for all to enjoy.
