Call to Arms: Sioux City in US Military History celebrates Sioux Cityans on-going legacy of serving in the US military, spanning conflicts from the Civil war to the post-9/11 era.
This fan-favorite exhibit features 100+ stunning specimens including rocks, minerals, meteorites, petrified wood, fossils, and more.
A retrospective of the prominent Winnebago artist's works is showcased along with a selection of Native American artifacts from the Museum’s collection.
Join us at 1:00 p.m. on February 7 as we ring in the Lunar New Year with a celebration of culture, tradition, and community!
Celebrate the season with the North High Chamber Choir at the Sioux City Public Museum!
The Sioux City Public Museum honors Day of the Dead with a day of celebration, including music, dancing, refreshments, face painting, and children’s crafts.
The Sioux City Public Museum and Sergeant Floyd River Museum will participate in Downtown Sioux City’s Fall Fest, on October 11 and 12, with activities for the whole family.
The annual Siouxland Big Give is Tuesday, October 3. The Siouxland Community Foundation will be hosting this 24-hour giving day at local Hy-Vee stores in the Sioux City area. Online giving is now open.
An event honoring local fourth-grade students participating in the 33rd annual Sioux City History Projects exhibition on display March 16-May 11. The reception is followed by an awards ceremony at 2 pm. Admission is free.
The Sioux City Public Museum and Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center will be closed in observance of the Easter holiday.
The Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Day.
The Sioux City Public Museum and Sergeant Floyd River Museum & Welcome Center are closed on December 31 and January 1 for New Year’s holidays.

Saturday, July 18
1:00-3:00 p.m. for adults and kids 13+
$12/members, $15/non-members
Use corn, beans, and other produce along with craft supplies to create a beautiful art piece. Participants can create their own designs from scratch, or start with a prepared design.
Tuesday, June 23
9:00-11:30 a.m. for 6-9 year olds
1:00-3:30 p.m. for 10-12 year olds
