The Sioux City Public Museum honors Day of the Dead with a day of celebration, including music, dancing, refreshments, face painting, and children’s crafts. This event is free to attend!
This year’s theme is Noche de Ofrendas (Night of the Altars), and focuses on candles, light, and the relationships with those who have passed. Candles are a symbolic and common decorative piece for Day of the Dead altars and celebrations. Local schools created paper candles which decorate the museum’s atrium and exhibit space.
