The classrooms and exhibit areas at the Sioux City Public Museum seem ready to burst at various times throughout the year as visitors of all ages take part in educational programs. We focus on providing a variety of programming to reach all ages and learning styles. Some of our most popular include PeeWee Pioneers (4-5 years), Time Travelers (6-8 years) and Junior Explorers (8-11 years). Check our calendar of events to see what activities are taking place at the Sioux City Public Museum this week!

Adults are able to join in discovering local history as well. The Sioux City Public Museum often takes visitors on historic bus and walking tours throughout Sioux City. The Tuesday Twilight Talks series (first Tuesday evening of the month) offers programs on a variety of subjects as well.

Much of our programming is based on the exhibitions on display at Sioux City Public Museum sites. Guided tours of our exhibition areas are available by request.

Throughout the school year the Sioux City Public Museum works with districts, teachers and students to provide instruction in local history that will tie into their curriculum. The enthusiasm generated by student visitors adds a great deal of life to the Sioux City Public Museum throughout the school year, as they explore with a guide and on their own through the exhibitions.

The Sioux City Public Museum will continue in its goals to create and foster life-long learners by providing opportunities to Siouxlanders of all ages. History can be fascinating, controversial, rewarding and fun and we hope the Sioux City Public Museum can be a place to share our heritage.
