Founded in 1878, the Palmer Candy Company is one of Sioux City's oldest companies. When this structure was built in 1905, the company was considered to be one of Iowa's leading candy making companies. Not only is it one of the country's oldest candy companies, it also has the longest span of family ownership and management of any candy company of its size in the United States.
